The Speed of the Boss...

…is the speed of the crew as the saying goes. Wall of Shame part 2.

When I ran a crew, this was a pet peeve of mine and it still is: a messy job site. I always made sure the slab was clear of construction materials & hazards when we left at the end of the day. I also made sure that my crew cleaned up after themselves after every meal. I have found a correlation between quality of housekeeping & quality of workmanship as I conduct new construction phase inspections. It seems the messier the work site, the lower quality of workmanship. And that reflects right back on the builder & their construction managers.

So if you want an idea of how well your new home might be being put together or you’re contemplating a certain builder,take a drive around the neighborhood. The devil is in the details.
